Status

The partners Gasunie and Vopak are currently in the process of identifying the technical, economic and financial scope of the project for the commercial reception, storage and transshipment of ammonia as a carrier for green and low carbon hydrogen and as a sustainable feedstock, with sustainability and safety as its core principle.

In February 2023, ACE Terminal signed an MoU with Cepsa, as the first of agreements ACE aims to sign for green hydrogen and ammonia imports to create Europe’s largest green ammonia open access import terminal. The MoU with Cepsa entails a cooperation intended to lead to a binding commercial agreement to facilitate the oversea transport of green ammonia, to redistribute the green ammonia to end markets in the Hinterland, and to process the green ammonia into green hydrogen ready for use by end customers in Northwest Europe.

Invitation to participate in commercial contracting process

Rotterdam, July 2024

We are pleased to announce our upcoming Term Sheet discussions as a next step in our commercial process, marking a significant step forward in the development of our ammonia storage and handling services, as well as cracking and downstream services at ACE Terminal.

Invitation to Participate

We invite all interested parties who have not yet had the opportunity to participate in these negotiations to join us.

The Term Sheet is crucial for securing your access to capacity reservation within our facility. This document includes binding elements that ensure both parties are committed to the agreed terms, providing a solid foundation for future operations and collaborations. The Term Sheet is an important step prior to reaching the final Terminal Use Agreement (TUA), where all terms and conditions will be elaborated and formally finalized.

Requirements for Participation

To ensure a mutual understanding and commitment to proceed with the Term Sheet discussions, a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is required. Additionally, participants must provide basic requirements such as yearly volume, parcel size in/out, and desired output (H2/NH3).
